Actv8 is a fast-growing Australian towel and utility lifestyle brand known for its smart, functional products designed for movement. Their flagship lineup includes multi-use car seat covers, gym towels, and beach accessories engineered for performance, convenience, and versatility. The brand caters to active consumers who value design, absorbency, and portability without sacrificing style.

With demand peaking in November and BFCM approaching, Actv8 partnered with Defiant to help unlock aggressive scale. The goal was to maximise acquisition volume without losing control of profitability, in a category with typically low repeat purchase cycles.

The Challenge.

Actv8 came to Defiant after a challenging experience with their previous agency, frustrated by inconsistent results, poor communication, and a lack of strategic oversight. Despite having a strong product with wide appeal, their campaigns were underperforming due to technical setup issues, creative that didn’t convert, and a general lack of attention to paid media. As Q4 approached, the brand was eager to scale, while maintaining tighter control over ad spend and protecting margins.

Strategy #1

Consolidated Structure for Scale

We rebuilt the Meta account using a consolidated campaign structure aligned with Andromeda best practices. By reducing campaign clutter and unifying budgets, we enabled faster learning and maximised delivery. During BFCM, this structure allowed us to aggressively increase budgets on high-performing days without volatility or learning resets.

Product-Demo & Pain Focused Creative

Creative was rebuilt around visual demonstration and clear problem-solution messaging. We leaned into user-generated videos showing the product in use, targeting common concerns like pet damage, spills, and kid mess. This content delivered strong scroll-stopping behaviour and improved top-of-funnel efficiency during the key sale period.

Profit-Led Scaling With Daily Spend Optimisation

To balance growth with tight margins, we implemented a profit-led scaling framework using real-time contribution tracking. Daily profitability data informed spend increases on Meta, allowing us to double or even triple budgets during peak performance windows without compromising CPA or ROAS targets. This adaptive approach enabled aggressive scaling during BFCM while maintaining control over margin erosion.

Google Ads Activation & Budget Diversification

While Meta remained the primary channel, we launched brand and shopping campaigns on Google for the first time. These campaigns captured bottom-funnel intent traffic during high-volume periods and helped diversify acquisition channels, supporting the broader scale-up effort.
